Cvijetić Bojan

BOJAN CVIJETIĆ, visual artist. He is mainly occupied with the aesthetics of the Orthodox tradition through iconography, painting, calligraphy, paleography, miniatures and illustration.
Being a graphic designer by vocation, he got an opportunity to become familiar with the beauty treasury of our heritage through long-term research of Serbian and Greek monasteries, mainly Mount Athos with its specific, rich heritage. During his stay in the monasteries, skits and cells of Athos, he collaborated with all the important icon painting workshops there, met many expirienced monks, spiritual elders and scientists who are frequent guests there.

Having come to terms with the meaning and forms of monastic life and the peculiar millennial monastic culture and history of Mount Athos, Orthodox liturgic, hesychastic tradition, ancient chanting, the manuscript heritage of the Church Slavonic, Old Serbian (Serbo-Slavonic) and ancient Greek languages of our ancestors and other Orthodox nations, the artist has been creating in silence for decades, far from the mainstream and exhibitions, simply conveying his aesthetic and spiritual experience through his works. Born in Veliki Bečkerek in 1976. Currently lives and works in Sremski Karlovci. His works are signed with DANILO, which is his artist name.
